Overview edit · view history
Titan Studios, initially named Darkstar Industries, was a development studio first announced at the E3 exhibit in July 2008 with the PlayStation Network title Fat Princess.
In November 2008 it was officially launched as a part of Epic Games China, most likely after an acquisition, but the main company was based in Seattle (USA). The core team consisted of developers formerly employed at Blizzard, Ubisoft, Scion, Epic, and Lionhead. Additionally, the studio announced to support development studios in the US time zone who licensed the UnrealEngine3 technology. As a whole, it was owned by Epic Games, Inc.
The short-lived studio was responsible for one game: Fat Princess (PS3 - 2009). The 2010 PSP game Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake was developed by SuperVillain Studios.
Three people (including Chris Millar and Deborah Mars) left the company to found Atomic Operations in 2010. The company is now known as Fun Bits Interactive. They made the Fat Princess: Fat Roles DLC for the PS3 game.
The studio was dissolved in July 2011. Following the loss, parent company Epic Games China was renamed Yingpei Games. The core team (Dawna Baltins, Weng Chen, Matt Endsley, James Green, Branimir Karadzic, and Ken Klopp) went on to found the independent studio Carbon Games.
