40 Winks
Description official descriptions
40 Winks is a 3D action-platform game in which you play as Ruff or Tumble, two children who must battle ghosts, goblins and other monsters in their dream-world. They must try to capture 40 winks scattered around the world in order to stop an evil old man named Nitekap. Nitekap wants to turn the winks into hood-winks, the things responsible for nightmares. You also have to find the 12 dream keys to unlock the boss level. A unique aspect of the game allows the players to temporarily morph into different costumes with special abilities. The costumes include a Prehistoric Man, Jester, Super Hero, and Ninja.

The game's fun, but only for the first ten minutes...
The Good
The first few levels were fun, the graphics alright and the comedy element. For the PlayStation at the time, 40 Winks had some great games, but 40 winks weren't one of them. However, some can consider that "it's so bad, it's good". The audio was good (although not great) and the sounds the characters and enemies made were quite laughable.
The Bad
Unfortunately, the bad things in this game sadly outweigh the good. As mentioned above, the graphics were alright, but not up to scratch with other games of the time, although some were quite smooth - although this didn't happen much. The plot was quite dull, and after a 30 minutes of game time, it seemed quite dull as if you were repeating everything over and over again.
The Bottom Line
If you can find this game, only consider to buy it in a £1 bargain bin - and even then, think about the fact that you'll only get 30 minutes of excitement. No replay value and not recommended.

Trivia
Cover Quote
If you examine the front cover of the U.S. Playstation cover for this game, you will notice a quote from an issue of Nintendo Official Magazine that says "Move Over Mario...". The reason for this somewhat humorous blurb is that a N64 version of 40 Winks was planned to be released, but eventually was canceled. But before the N64 version of the game got canceled, it was reviewed by Nintendo Official Magazine, which then resulted in a Playstation exclusive game using a Nintendo quote to downplay a Nintendo character.
