The Xerox Alto is a computer introduced in 1973 and designed from the ground up to use a graphical user interface as would later be popularized for home computers by Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh. Also novel on the system was a mouse and a 5-chord keyboard. While not built for gaming, and generally too expensive for that, some games were created for the Alto and played on locations that had the machines, which were primarily Xerox laboratories and universities.
